Prostate Cancer Panel
Prostate Cancer Panel
The Prostate Cancer Panel analyzes genes associated with a hereditary predisposition to prostate cancer. These genes were selected based on the available evidence to date to provide the most comprehensive test for hereditary prostate cancer. Given the clinical overlap of hereditary susceptibility to prostate cancer, broad panel testing allows for an efficient evaluation of several potential genes based on a single clinical indication.
Genetic testing may confirm a clinical diagnosis and guide treatment and management decisions. At-risk relatives may also be identified, allowing the pursuit of a diagnostic evaluation, early detection, and improved clinical outcome. This test is specifically designed for heritable germline mutations and is not appropriate for the detection of somatic mutations in tumor tissue.
This is a customised genetic test that can be ordered by a physician/healthcare provider after a preliminary diagnosis.
