The Chromosomal Microarray is designed to identify abnormalities in the chromosomes of a developing fetus or in an individual with developmental delays or intellectual disabilities. The test is performed on a sample of cells, such as those obtained through chorionic villus sampling or amniocentesis, and analyzes the DNA in those cells to look for missing or extra pieces of chromosomes.
