IGHV Gene Mutation Analysis determines the somatic hypermutation status of the immunoglobulin heavy chain variable (IGHV) gene in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). The mutation status is an established prognostic biomarker that helps classify patients into mutated (M-IGHV) or unmutated (U-IGHV) subgroups, which are associated with distinct disease behavior, treatment response, and clinical outcomes. This test supports diagnosis, prognostic assessment, risk stratification, therapeutic decision-making, and long-term disease management in accordance with current international clinical guidelines.
Methodology: Sanger Sequencing or Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), depending on laboratory workflow.
Sample Type: Peripheral whole blood (EDTA) or bone marrow aspirate.
